The Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados), through Brazilian Footwear, a program to support exports in the sector promoted in partnership with the Brazilian Export and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil), will take 76 national brands to Micam Milano, in Milan/Italy. The exhibition will be held between February 18th and 21st, at Fieramilano (Rho).
Considered one of the main trade fairs in the world for the footwear segment, the show receives, twice a year, more than a thousand brands from around the world. The Commercial Promotion analyst at Abicalçados, Paola Pontin, points out that the Italian fair generates good expectations for Brazilian shoemakers, due to the qualified visit of international buyers, mainly from Europe, the Middle East and Asia. According to her, the year 2024 should be a recovery one for Brazilian exports. "International fairs have a fundamental role for shoe exports. Last year, in international actions supported by Brazilian Footwear alone, whose fairs are the most commercially important, almost R$ 900 million were generated”, she comments. At Micam Milano in February 2023 alone, more than US$ 32 million was generated.
