With the support of the program, commercial promotion actions are promoted, such as the participation of Brazilian brands in international trade fairs and business rounds, and also image actions that seek to strengthen national brands, as well as the identity of the Made in Brazil shoes.

The Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) is the entity that represents the national industry, the fifth largest producer of footwear in the world, the largest in the West. Founded in 1983, Abicalçados, is headquartered in Novo Hamburgo/RS, has in its membership companies of all sizes and that account for more than 65% of the total pairs of shoes produced in the country. The entity represents an industry that directly employs more than 280 thousand people. Its mission is to represent, defend, develop and promote the Brazilian footwear industry, with respect, excellence and results.
The Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) works to promote Brazilian products and services abroad and attract foreign investments to strategic sectors of the Brazilian economy. Regarding foreign direct investment (FDI), ApexBrasil supports foreign investors as they analyze opportunities to establish facilities, start partnerships, or commit capital through funds and companies in Brazil. ApexBrasil’s goal is to meet investors’ needs and generate results as it attracts technology, innovation, enterprises and creates new jobs in Brazil.

For the 2024-2026 biennium of Brazilian Footwear, six countries were defined as target markets of the program. With a different strategy for each market, these countries, which are located over three continents, receive several commercial and image promotion actions that aim to promote Brazil and stimulate the commercialization of Brazilian footwear for both the B2B (business to business) audience as for the B2C (business to consumer).
