The event took place from February 14 to 16 in Atlanta
The U.S.-based Atlanta Shoe Market, one of the fastest-growing trade shows in the United States, delivered positive results for the 17 Brazilian brands supported by Brazilian Footwear — the export promotion program carried out by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). The event took place from February 14 to 16 in Atlanta.
According to a report by Abicalçados, between orders closed and deals initiated during the event, the trade show is expected to generate sales of more than 151,000 pairs, totaling R$11.76 million (US$2.25 million). For Carla Giordani, from Abicalçados’ Business Unit, the results demonstrate that, despite the challenges posed by the U.S. tariff hike on Brazilian footwear, the American market continues to invest in Brazilian products. “Historically, the United States has been the leading international destination for Brazilian footwear. It is an important and solid market for our brands, which, despite the challenges, maintain a close relationship with American buyers who remain loyal to the attributes of Brazilian footwear,” she emphasizes.
Marking its second consecutive participation at the Atlanta Shoe Market, Bibi reported satisfaction with the results achieved. “We were well positioned in the children’s footwear aisle, so virtually all buyers in this segment visited our booth. We achieved strong results in this market, which is very important for Bibi,” said the company’s Export Coordinator, Luisa Kich. According to her, the footwear company has been expanding its network of local representatives, who can also be found at the trade show.
Also pleased with the results was Schutz, represented by Account Executive Christina Coracini. “The trade show was very positive for us, as it has been in recent years. Orders were placed, and many others were initiated through contacts that we will follow up on in the coming weeks,” she emphasizes, highlighting visits from key buyers from California, Utah, New Jersey, and Florida.
In addition to buyers from the United States, the Atlanta Shoe Market welcomed importers from markets such as Canada, Puerto Rico, Aruba, Jamaica, Panama, Honduras, and even from the other side of the world, South Korea.
The brands that participated in the Atlanta Shoe Market with the support of Brazilian Footwear were Arezzo, Bibi, Bottero, Brizza, Cartago, Cocco Miami, Ipanema, Melissa, Mini Melissa, Pampili, Pampili Mini, Pampili Teen, Pegada, Piccadilly, Rider, Schutz, and Vicenza.
