Brazilian Footwear promotes action in Colombia

The Brazilian Footwear, footwear exports promotion program developed by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil), will be in Colombia from January 28 to February 1st.  The trip aims to promote a trade mission with 17 Brazilian footwear brands in a showroom in the cities of Bogotá, Medellín, and Cali. The mission will also count on a seminar on the local market and actions geared towards image promotion.

The coordinator of Abicalçados' Image Promotion Unit, Alice Rodrigues, highlights that the initiative aims to hold business networking meetings between footwear manufacturers and distributors in the Colombian market. To boost sales, a series of meetings was previously scheduled, a matchmaking service provided by a local company that contrasted the supply of Brazilian companies with the demands of some of the main players in the Colombian industry.  In addition, the action will feature a preparatory seminar on the Colombian market, in Bogotá, and an event to foster the relationship with the local press, Photocall, in Medellín, counting on the support of the Embassy of Brazil. "The Colombian market has similar demands to the Brazilian market, which makes negotiations easier. In 2018, the country was the seventh destination of our footwear, importing 7.5 million pairs, 1% more than in 2017," Rodrigues mentions.

The brands Ala, Zatz, Stéphanie Classic, Petite Jolie, Usaflex, Suzana Santos, Renata Mello, Klin, Via Uno, Kildare, Sandálias DuRio, Savelli, Smidt, DOK, Kolosh Brasil, Mississipi, and Tanara participate in the trade mission.

The mission begins with a Preparatory Seminar and a showroom in Bogotá on January 28 and 29. On the two following days, the brands participate in the trade exhibition in Medellín, the same place Photocall, an event with the Colombian press, is held.  The schedule ends on February 1st, with a showroom in the city of Cali.
