| Footwear Pole in Paraíba | | A young productive cluster of shoes in Brazil, the State of Paraíba has been continuously standing out in the Brazilian industrial scenario. The footwear pole is formed by the cities of Campina Grande, Patos, João Pessoa, Santa Rita, Bayex, Guarabira, Catolé do Rocha and Sousa. It brings together about 400 formal companies, which employ 10 thousand people. Campina Grande stands out as the largest producer of synthetic sandals in Brazil. Paraíba was the Brazilian State that has grown more - in proportional terms – in footwear exportation. There was an increase in foreign exchange of about 28.92%, whose turnover reached US$ 77.7 million. In the Brazilian ranking, Paraíba is the third position considering the volume shipped to abroad and it’s the fifth in turnover. | |
