Renewed, U.S. trade fair will feature participation of the Brazilian Footwear06/08/2019
Brazilian shoes will be present in another edition of the U.S. fair FN Platform, which takes place in Las Vegas from August 12 to 14. Thirteen Brazilian brands will be supported by the Brazilian Footwear, footwear exports promotion program developed by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
Abicalçados' Trade Promotion analyst Ruisa Scheffel, who will accompany the action, highlights that the trade show was renewed. From this edition onwards, it will be part of events of Magic Week, encompassing, besides footwear, clothing, accessories, and niche sectors. "This will likely provide an even greater number of visitors than the one registered in previous events – on average 50 thousand–, since it will make logistics easier for buyers," the analyst foresees. "A buyer searching for a complete look for their store will be able to buy shoes, accessories, and clothes in one place. New opportunities will arise," she exemplifies.
At last year's FN Platform, the Brazilian participation generated over USD 3.5 million, combining the deals closed on the spot and those that began to be negotiated during the event. "It is a significant number, but the relationship established with a series of important buyers from over 100 countries, especially from the largest footwear market in the planet, the United States, is more important," says Scheffel. For her, Brazilian sales will likely be boosted by the trade war between the United States and China, which has been making U.S. importers seek alternative suppliers outside the Asian country as a precaution against new import tariffs. "In addition, there is the fact that the dollar is appreciated against the real, which enables to set more competitive prices," the analyst concludes.
The brands Ipanema, Zaxy, Carrano, Vicenza, Kidy, Magia Teen, Petite Jolie, Ala, Zatz, Pegada, Offline, Suzana Santos, and Renata Mello participate in FN Platform with the support of the Brazilian Footwear.
