Italian footwear fair will feature 44 Brazilian brands08/01/2020
Regarded as the most internationalized footwear fair in the world, the 93rd edition of Expo Riva Schuh will feature 44 Brazilian brands. The fair takes place in Riva Del Garda, Italy, from January 11 to 14. The participation is made possible through the incentive provided by the Brazilian Footwear, footwear exports promotion program developed by the Brazilian Footwear Industries Association (Abicalçados) in partnership with the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (Apex-Brasil).
Having generated over USD 34 million for Brazilian brands in last year's January edition, the fair is one of the best in the planet when it comes to sales volume. "The first edition of the year – the fair also takes place in June – plays an important role because it marks the beginning of the international calendar of fairs and because it enables adjustments for sales during the year. It is also a great opportunity to foster the relationship with the market and with distributors from all over the world, especially from Europe," says Abicalçados' Trade Promotion analyst Ruísa Scheffel. In 2020, the fair will likely receive buyers from more than 100 countries.
There is a positive expectation concerning business, supported by the favorable exchange rate, with the dollar remaining at around R$ 4 for months, which allows Brazilian footwear manufacturers to set more competitive prices in the international market. Between January and November 2019 (most recent data available), more than 104.2 million pairs were shipped abroad, generating USD 886.3 million, 3.8% more than in the same period in 2018.

With around 1.5 thousand exhibitors from 40 countries, Expo Riva Schuh receives a qualified contingent of visitors, from buyers with great decision-making power to distributors for major chains.
